Sharpen Contours and Create Definition1,2

In clinical studies, Radiesse demonstrated higher levels of viscosity and elasticity compared to HA-based fillers, giving it the strength to lift and define while remaining where injected.3

Study Description

The viscosity and elasticity were measured by deformation oscillation using a plate and plate geometry. Measurements were taken at 0.7 Hz because it was considered physiologically relevant for common skin stressors.3

Elasticity (G’)

Radiesse Provides Higher Elasticity Compared to HA-Based Fillers.3*

Results of studies demonstrate that, of the nine products tested, Radiesse (+) scored the highest in elastic modulus, followed by Juvéderm Volux XC, Restylane Lyft, Restylane, Radiesse non-diluted with lidocaine, RHA4, Juvéderm Voluma XC, Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC, and Juvéderm XC.

Measures the ability of a filler to withstand a force that is applied to it and not spread or splay into the surrounding tissue. As seen in the chart, Radiesse and Radiesse (+) show the highest resistance to spreading when compared to other dermal fillers.3

Measures the ability of a filler to push back against a force that is applied to it and provide lift. Radiesse and Radiesse (+) proves to withstand the most force and is designed to have superior lifting capacity when compared to other dermal fillers.3

The benefits of the high elasticity (G’) of Radiesse include:
  • Counteracts forces that cause an aged look, like gravity or skin laxity
  • Provides lift and definition3,4

Viscosity

Radiesse (+) Provides Higher Viscosity Compared to HA-based Fillers.3

Results of this study show that, of the seven products tested, Radiesse (+) provided higher viscosity, followed by Restylane Lyft, Restylane L, Radiesse non-diluted with lidocaine, Juvéderm Voluma XC, Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC, and Juvéderm Ultra XC.

The effects of the high viscosity of Radiesse include:

  • Remains in the place it is injected and will not spread or splay into the surrounding tissue3,4
  • Enables the injector to visualize the result immediately after injection
